Brent K.S. Woodfill is an archaeologist, writer, and professor. He has conducted research in the Maya world since 1998, focusing on sacred geography, ritual and religion, trade, and community archaeology. He is currently directing research at the Classic Maya saltworks of Salinas de los Nueve Cerros, Guatemala in addition to several other Classic cities and saltworks in the Guatemalan highlands and the Lacandon Forest in Chiapas, Mexico. Woodfill lives in Charlotte and is Professor of Anthropology at Winthrop University.
